Anita Jayne Purdham, 37, local government officer, and Richard William Timperon, 36, area manager for Exxon Mobil Chemicals, live in Warwick-on-Eden
HOW THEY MET: At Café Solo in Carlisle in November 2003.
PROPOSAL: Anita and Richard had been to three weddings on consecutive weekends in 2007 and at the third Richard proposed unexpectedly.
VENUE: St. Leonard’s Church, Warwick-on-Eden.
THEME: Christmas.
BRIDE’S OUTFIT: A Carol Li ivory gown worn with a intricately beaded lace bolero jacket, pearl and diamond tiara and veil, from Olivia James Bridal, Egremont.
GROOMSMEN: The groom’s brother James Timperon was best man.
The groom’s cousin Ross Hocking, the bride’s nephew Liam Purdham and friends Giles Vasey and Richard Todd were ushers.
They wore grey Prince Edward jackets, matching trousers, cinnamon waistcoats, white wing shirts, cinnamon ties and handkerchiefs, from Russell’s Wedding Studio, Carlisle.
BRIDESMAIDS: Carol Rickerby and Emily Williamson, the groom’s goddaughter, were bridesmaids and wore antique gold dresses from Confetti Bridal, Newcastle.
FLOWERS: Crimson and ivory winter bouquets by The Flower Basket, Penrith.
TRANSPORT: Two gold Mercedes provided by family friends Stewart Williamson and Ernie Foster.
RECEPTION: The North Lakes Hotel, Penrith for a drinks reception and wedding breakfast for 100 guests followed by an evening reception for 150 guests.
CAKE: A round three-tier fruit cake made by the groom’s mother Rita Timperon, decorated with glass Christmas baubles by Margaret Burnham, Hutton Roof.
FIRST DANCE: Nobody Does It Better, Carly Simon.
ENTERTAINMENT: Solid Beat Disco, Egremont.
