Andrews to put up with the pain for Workington Reds

Lee Andrews will continue to play through the pain barrier for Workington Reds until he goes under the knife.
The defender needs an operation but specialists have not yet determined the problem.
Andrews is either suffering acute tendonitis, or a hernia – with both outcomes seeing him out of action for months rather than weeks.
The best scenario for Andrews, and Workington, who also have David Hewson, Anthony Wright and Dan Wordsworth out through injury, is a hernia, which would see him back in two months.
Acute tendonitis would see Andrews out of action until Christmas.
Boss Darren Edmondson said the experienced defender would play against Kendal Town tomorrow (3pm) alongside Kyle May.
He added: “Lee will definitely need some time out but we don’t know how long yet. He went for scans this week but we haven’t got the results back.
“We are working on brining new players in. I have identified a couple of defenders who would be able to fill in while Lee is out.”
Injury-plagued Reds were dealt a further blow with news Wright and Wordsworth were ruled out with lengthy problems.
Wright could be out for as long as 10 weeks with a hairline fracture in his tibia, with Wordsworth’s ankle injury expected to keep him away for up to a month.
Edmondson added: “To lose so many first team players has massively disrupted our preparation.
“David, Lee, Dan and Anthony are all first team players, and losing them causes us problems.
“We’ve been plagued, and it’s difficult because now we only have Kyle May as a recognised central defender.
“Niall can play in the middle of defence but he’s still a young lad learning the game, so it is obvious we need cover.”
