CUMBERLAND Business, the arm of Cumberland Building Society dedicated to business customers, has launched a new internet banking service.

The service will provide full 24/7 banking for business current account customers and let them view their savings and mortgage accounts online.

The service is an extension of the Cumberland’s successful roll-out of an internet service for personal banking customers.

Ken Herd, newly appointed business current account development manager for Cumberland Building Society, said: “This is a significant development for Cumberland Business.

“We have excellent current account options designed to suit the way businesses manage their day-to-day banking.

“They can enjoy the combined benefits of banking online, through our local branch network or, in most cases, both – whichever is most convenient for them.”

The system has been supplied by Australian company Sandstone Technology and uses what the Cumberland describes as “world-class security measures”.

The technology is also used by 10 banks and building societies in Australia including the Bank of Queensland and Adelaide Bank.

Cumberland Business has appointed Paul Webster and Mike Keen as business lending managers. The pair bring a combined 60 years of financial sector experience to the roles.
