HOW THEY MET: Through work, but they got together at a Halloween fancy dress party when Pam was dressed as a bat and Nick as a ghost.

PROPOSAL: Nick proposed on holiday in Stockholm, Sweden on March 18, 2006. He got down on one knee on a frozen lake and popped the question.

VENUE: St Michael’s Church, Stanwix, Carlisle, on March 8. The Rev Ben Phillips officiated.

THEME: Victorian lilac and ivory.

BRIDE’S OUTFIT: A strapless ivory duchess satin Belle Epoque gown designed by Suzanne Neville and a three-quarter length veil decorated in diamantes from Mia, of Carlisle; and a silver Halo & Co diamante tiara from Capricorn in Carlisle.

GROOMSMEN: Richard Jefferson was best man. The groom’s brothers Mike and Tom Griffiths were ushers.The groom wore a black suit made by Edwin DeBoise from Steed, Carlisle. The groomsmen wore Peter Posh black suits from Country Dreams Bridal, Carlisle.

BRIDESMAIDS: School friends Paula Paisley, 35, and Wendy Barclay, 34, were bridesmaids. They wore Victorian lilac Alfred Sung bodices and skirts supplied by Capricorn. Millie Campbell, two, was flowergirl and wore a cream dress.

FLOWERS: Bouquets of tulips for the bride and bridesmaids made by Elaine Forrester and her sister Julie, of Mealsgate, near Wigton.

TRANSPORT: A white, 1931 Rolls Royce convertible and Rolls Royce Silver Shadow from Silver Lady Wedding Cars, Longtown.

RECEPTION: Champagne reception at the North Lakes Hotel, Penrith, for 128 guests with a further 52 in the evening.

TABLE SETTINGS: Vases of cream roses, tea-lights and mirrors.

FAVOURS: The couple donated money to the Special Care Baby Unit, the Eden Valley Hospice and the Great North Air Ambulance. Party bags for the children.

CAKE: A three-tier ivory cake with chocolate and fruit layers made by Jennifer Laidlow, of Carlisle.

FIRST DANCE: We Have All The Time In The World by Louis Armstrong.

ENTERTAINMENT: Disco by Juan Latour, Carlisle.

HONEYMOON: Hong Kong, Sydney and Singapore.
