HAVEN prop Ryan McDonald could be in hot water with the RFL judiciary after he was found to have a case to answer over his big bust-up against Leigh.

McDonald, below, and Centurions’ front-rower Gareth Price were sin-binned following their Bank Holiday Monday fracas at the Recre.

Leigh prop Mike Morrison was sent off after rushing in to punch the Haven man in the face, and ref Jamie Leahy put the whole incident on report.

After examining it on camera, McDonald has been told by Red Hall he has a case to answer, which generally means potential foul play has been spotted by the judiciary.

McDonald has proved a revelation in his first year at the Recre, and the good news for the club is that his disciplinary hearing will not be held until after Sunday’s trip to Batley, in which Haven aim to get back on track after the record midweek defeat at Wigan.

Coach Ged Stokes said: “I haven’t really yet had a good look at the incident. Ryan was binned over it at the time, and I don’t know how they don’t have double jeopardy in rugby league.

“He has already been penalised once. But I have checked, and if they want to look at it again, they can.”

First-choice prop David Fatialofa is sidelined with a long-term injury, though Haven are not short of front-rowers.

Scott Teare and David Ford were used off the bench at Wigan, and Marc Jackson is closing in on a return to action. Stand-off Carl Rudd is checking out a knee injury suffered at the JJB.
